Prostyle Karate

Pro-Style Karate and Kickboxing Ottawa was founded by Master John Laroda over ten years ago. Master John started Pro-Style after years of training and practice in Ottawa. To date, Master John has been training in karate for 26 years.Master John began his training with Harry Villeneuve in 1979. He trained in Karate under Mr. Villeneuve for several years and also with Bernie Rojas. In 1986, Master John received his black belt with John Douvris in Ottawa. In 1994 Master John decided to offer his own skills to the people of Ottawa and opened Pro-Style Martial Arts. The original location was situated on Hines road and was very successful. But as times changed and Pro-Style grew Master John needed a new larger facility. It was at this point that Pro-Style Karate and Kickboxing was moved to its present location on Schneider Road .While running a successful and family oriented Ottawa karate club, Master John also found time for competition. He preformed well in the sparring and kata divisions in and around Ottawa in the 1980's and 90's. But Master John did not stop there. He continued competing and has attended many world championships. In 2002 Master John won Gold in Italy for continuous sparring and has won many silver medals in international competition.
